Life of the Noveltoons is an American animated television series that was based on the Noveltoons franchise. Created by Nancy Farwell and developed by Alexandra Farwell and Jerry Beck, it was produced by Paramount Television Animation and aired on weekday on the syndication during the first season before moving to UPN for the remainder of the series' run. The series premiered on September 18, 1994 and finished its run on July 18, 1999. The series ended production in early 1999 in favor of Little Audrey & Friends, Toony Tales: Wacky Classics and Noveltoons Mania. The series reran on Nickelodeon from 1999 to 2002, Nicktoons from 2002 to 2007 and UltraToons from 2007 to 2015.

Synopsis[]

The series centered around the Noveltoons reside in Mountville as they try to live their everyday lives. However, their ways of live often interrupted by all sorts of wild and crazy antics, as well as getting into strange adventures.

  • Friendly Fox (voiced by Billy West) - a happy-go-lucky, charismatic and sly fox.
  • Hoppy (voiced by Jess Harnell) - a jackalope who is Friendly's best friend.
  • Barry Bird (voiced by Phil LaMarr) - Friendly's friend who constantly believes that he is better than all.
  • Felipe Beaver (voiced by Bob Bergen)- Barry's reluctant best friend who is often dragged into situations.
  • Sylvia Barker (voiced by Tress MacNeille from 1994 until 1996 and Tara Strong from 1996 until 1999) - the tomboyish yet beautiful human female who both usually works with Friendly and friends and sometimes gets into situations.
  • Clippy and Winkie (both voiced by Danny Mann and Charlie Adler) - a panda bear and muskrat who are surprisingly best friends.
  • Susan Wilson, Maria Johnson and David Jones (voiced by Kath Soucie and also by Tara Strong) - TBD.

Broadcast[]

The first season aired on the first-run syndication as part of the Paramount ToonWorld block from September 17, 1994 to May 21, 1995. The series moved to UPN as part of the UPN Kids block and aired on the block from September 10, 1995 to July 18, 1999. Reruns of the series aired on Nickelodeon from 1999 to 2002 and Nicktoons from 2002 to 2015.

DVD releases[]

On September 6, 2005, Paramount Home Entertainment released Life of the Noveltoons: The Complete Series on DVD in Region 1. The 5-disc set features seasons 1 to 5 and does not contain any bonus features, except for subtitles made for the hearing impaired.

On March 4, 2021, the series became available to stream on Paramount+, the day the streaming service launched.
