Little Helpers is a 1972 American animated comedy film produced by Paramount Cartoon Studios. The 18th feature film from the studio, in this story, a young girl named Kiana need to save the playground in the park from an evil business man named Kingston Claw, who is planning to tear down the playground in the park to put up a mall. It stars the voices of June Foray and Mel Blanc.
Little Helpers was filmed in 1971 and released on October 6, 1972, to moderate critical and commercial success. The film, along with Hanna-Barbera's Charlotte's Web, has developed a devoted following over the following years due to television and VHS; in 1994 it surprised the marketplace by becoming one of the best-selling titles of the year, 21 years after its first premiere. It inspired a theatrical sequel, a direct-to-video sequels, and a live-action remake.

The film was released to theaters on October 6, 1972 by Paramount Pictures in the United States.
Home media[]
Little Helpers was first released on VHS in 1979, followed by three more re-releases in 1989, 1994, and 1996. On July 9, 1996, both first Little Helpers and To the Rescue were digitally restored and re-released onto VHS in a limited edition boxed 2-pack set with both videos having clamshell VHS cases. It made its DVD debut in 2001. A second DVD release of the film was released in 2006. It was released in widescreen on Blu-ray for the first time on June 3, 2014, which included a digital HD and UltraViolet copy.
On March 4, 2021, Little Helpers, along with its sequel and other Paramount Animation films, was available on Paramount+.

Sequels and legacy[]

The film gave rise to a number of follow-up media. The theatrical sequel To the Rescue was released in 1990 and follows the adventures of Kiana as she and her friends going to save a young fox from two poacher who try to shoot him down. A TV series based on it called Kiana's Little Helpers aired on TBD from 1991 to 1995 and UPN Kids from 1995 to 1997. Two direct-to-video films were also later produced by Paramount Home Entertainment: On the Way in 1996 and Friends of the World in 1997.
In December 2017, Paramount Pictures stated that some of its old properties are being considered for revivals via animated feature films, and Little Helpers was one of them. In July 2018, it was announced that Paramount was developing an live-action remake of Little Helpers.
