Riku Kane is a action-adventure video game developed by Eurocom and published by Paramount Interactive for the arcade, MS-DOS, Amiga, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Game Boy and Game Gear. It was first released in North America in September 1994, followed by Europe a month later and Japan in December. It stars the title character, an 18-year old sushi chef named Riku Kane and is the first game in the Riku Kane series.
Riku Kane received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised its graphics, art style, humor, and soundtrack, although some derided it for its similarities to other platformers. The game was a commercial success, going on to sell over three million copies, and was remastered along with the next two games in the series as Riku Kane: Master Trilogy in 2014.
