Toonatics: Journey Around Hollywood is a 1996 American animated musical comedy-adventure film produced by Paramount Cartoon Studios, Paramount Television Animation, Hyperion Animation and O Entertainment. Based on the 1992–99 animated series Toonatics, the film was co-written, directed, and produced by series creators Alexandra Farwell, and co-written by Julie Young and Julian Reilly. The film stars the regular television cast of Charlie Adler, Rob Paulsen, Kath Soucie, Jeff Bergman, Julie Young, Cathy Cavadini, Tress MacNeille, Frank Welker, Jeff Bennett, Maurice LaMarche and Jim Cummings, with guest roles from Willem Dafoe and Kimmy Robertson. In the film, Freddy, Ruger and Beth tried to pitch their very own movie to Paramount CEO Fredrick Tropes, but he rejected it as he distrust the trio ever since they always messed up the studio. This lead Freddy, Ruger and Beth leaving the studio and started explored around the Hollywood until they would find someone else to approve their movie.
Farwell and Fleischer accepted an offer for a film adaptation of Toonatics from Paramount Pictures in 1993, after the series' fourth season was renewed and during the production of Meredith's Journey. They assembled a team from the show's writing staff, including Julie Young and Julian Reilly, and they wrote several different stories before settling one in which Freddy, Ruger and Beth exploring the entire Hollywood, which typically does not happen in the series, before work on the animation began in 1995. The film was originally intended to serve as the series finale, but UPN ordered more episodes of the series until 1999, so Farwell and Fleischer resigned as showrunner, with Bruce W. Smith taking her place.
The film held its red-carpet premiere in Grauman's Chinese Theatre on July 15, 1996, and was released theatrically in the United States by August 2, 1996. It received generally positive reviews from critics and was a box office success, grossing $104 million worldwide against a $18 million budget and became the highest-ever grossing Paramount animated film. The film is followed by two standalone direct-to-video sequels: A Toonatics Summer Vacation in 1998 and The Zany Quest Begins in 2000.

While the work was a Paramount animated production, it was considered far less essential than the studio's mainstream works at the time such as Natalia's Story, was given a far smaller budget compared to these films. Thus, Toonatics: Around the Hollywood was jointly produced by Paramount Feature Animation, Paramount Television Animation, Paramount Cartoon Studios, Hyperion Animation and O Entertainment and with outsourcing to Paramount Animation France, Paramount Animation Australia and Paramount Animation Japan, along with additional Paramount animation studios in Spain and Canada. Pre-production was done at the main Feature Animation studio in Hollywood, California, starting as early as mid-1994. The animation work was done at Paramount Animation France, with additional scenes animated at Paramount's studio in Sydney, Australia and Tokyo, Japan.

Toonatics: Around the Hollywood was originally scheduled to be released in theaters on March 30, 1996, but production setbacks resulted in a push-back to August 1996, while Toony Tales: Worldwide West was released to fill in for the film's absence. Toonatics: Around the Hollywood premiered at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California on July 15, 19996, and was theatrically released on August 2, 1995.

The film was first released on VHS and LaserDisc by Paramount Home Video in the United States and Canada on March 25, 1997. It was reissued on April 20, 1999, along with a DVD version. The DVD edition includes the Toonatics episode "Hollywood Fever", two shorts Now We're Off and Hear That?, a music video for "Every Hollywood Day", and a theatrical trailer for the film.
Toonatics: Around the Hollywood was later released on Blu-ray for the first time on February 8, 2022.
