Plot[]

In the 1980s, a women named Makaila is riding in a car, listening to tunes on the car's radio, where she comes across a mysterious person who lead her to a now-closed arcade where the two find the same arcade cabinet titled "Virtual World" (which was in the first film). With Makaila opting to play the game, she later finds herself sucked inside. Years later, Virtual World is now upgraded into a much better place, while Karissa June and Frida staying best friends and hanging out after work between Virtual World and Retrotopia over the last five years. Karissa June remembers something about her long-lost mother and sister, although she has visions of an impending "destruction". However, when a group of mysterious texter girls, led by a female mobile game character named Alexandra Mayhem, approaches to Virtual World, where a chase ensues and forces everyone in the city to evacuate. Kasey Jones attempts to befriend them, but Alexandra and the girls then kidnap all of Karissa's friends (including Kasey) and take them to Mobile Dimension. Karissa, in despair, is visited by Kasey's mother Ruby, who recently also sucked into the arcade cabinet, and convinces her to find her son. As the two agree, Karissa and Ruby must go into other dimensions to save Kasey and her friends.

After they arrived at the Mobile Dimension, Kasey and the gang were being greeted by Francesca June, who is the empress of Mobile Dimension. Francesca is able to brainwash Kasey's friends into accepting the joy of her world. Kasey remains skeptical of Francesca's plans after they find their other friends from Virtual World there, similarly brainwashed.

Meanwhile, when Karissa and Ruby gets into trouble in the apocalypse dimension, they were saved by the Dimensional Gang, led by Makaila June who was revealed to be Karissa's long-lost mother. They eventually reunite and bond with each other. After hearing Karissa's story, Makaila and her gang offer to help and take them to the Mobile Dimension, and en route, Karissa tries to emulate some of Makaila's mannerisms.

In Mythical Dimension, Karissa, Makaila and Ruby encounter the mean-spirited group of griffins, who force them to leave the Mythical Dimension and never return. But the Dimensional Gang choose to stay, but the griffins end up capturing the rest of the team, while Karissa, Makaila and Ruby manage to escape from the griffins.

While Kasey manages to escape when his friends are being brainwashed. He befriends Lady Vivian, who is Francesca's lady-in-waiting and wants to help him to save his friends. After escaping from the griffins, Karissa, Makaila and Ruby arrived at Toon Dimension, where they are being held by two cartoon characters, Paul and Benny to get into the Mobile Dimension. After they escape from a bunch of cartoon mobs, the gang goes on into the Music Dimension, where they meet Kenya, the leader of the dimension. She reveals to Karissa that there were seven kinds, (Game, Mobile, Apocalypse, Mythical, Toons, Music and Digital), that lived together once, but there was someone trying to destroy them all. So, they separated into different dimensions.

After Music Dimension had been hijacked by Francesca's guards, the gang went into the Digital Dimension, where Karissa and Ruby quickly reunited with Kasey. The gang learns of the plans, which Makaila insists must be a front to bring on "destruction". When the gang arrived at the Mobile Dimension, Kasey, Karissa, Ruby, Makaila, Paul, Benny, Kenya and Vivian split up to sabotage the event. However, Kasey is intercepted by Alexandra, who insists on the plans to prevent "destruction". At the announcement, Francesca encounters Karissa and Makaila, who realizes that they were her long-lost family. Kasey realizes Alexandra is right, and he and Karissa also realize Vivian is the villain. Vivian revealed that she was from a different dimension, wanted to take over every dimension she wanted and destroyed it. Karissa tried to stop her, but Vivian banished her to an empty dimension where she'll be imprisoned, while she decided to leave everyone from every dimension into the abyss.

Being unable to accept that this is the end, Ruby urges everyone to sing "Hope is Alive". While Karissa was crying in the empty dimension, Makaila arrived and encouraged her to not give up. However, Vivian attempts to kill them, but Makaila and Vivian battle each other. Kasey, Ruby and the others escape the abyss and help bring back their dimensions. Kasey, Ruby and Francesca help to save Karissa and Makaila from Vivian. However, Vivian pursues Kasey and Karissa and tries to kill them, but Makaila attacks Vivian, which leads them to fall into another dimension. Worried that she will never come back, Makaila survives the fall after Vivian's defeat.

Every dimension, including Virtual World, Retrotopia and the Mobile Dimension, recreated as a mish-mash renamed Dimensional World. The film ends with Kasey and Karissa hoping there is another brand new adventure for them.
